Need something specific next year? Request ahead

The year 2022 is shaping up to be another year of limited supply for garden and landscape supply. The shortages that arose during the stay-at-home orders of the early pandemic are still here, when new gardeners and experienced landscapers both had to compete for plant material that wasn’t prepared for the influx of demand. This disruption in the plant material supply chain will likely be a factor in sourcing for some time.

If you are looking for something specific, please let us know as soon as possible so that we can try and source it at the best price available for you. Requesting plant material does not guarantee that we will be able to find what you’re looking for, but it will give us the best shot at finding a supplier that has your request in stock.

As we have covered in a past blog post, the landscape industry is undergoing a few different compounding problems. Shortages of plant material, shortages of logistics to deliver plant material from growers to retail nurseries, and macroeconomic factors (like increase in price of raw materials) are all creating a difficult time for sourcing the array of plant material that we at Whispering Hills would normally carry.

We will still have the favorite mainstays of hydrangea, viburnum and centerpiece shrubs, but the more rare finds that we pride ourselves on carrying may be out of stock from the growers that we buy from.

If you have a specific plant, flower, shrub or tree that you would like to plant in your landscape during the 2022 growing season, please feel free to email or give us a call, and we will work hard to find a supplier. We can’t guarantee that we will be able to find whatever is requested, but giving us a head start to find what you need will give us the best chance at finding it.
